- Jade Ashcroft studied for her Media Production BA Hons Degree at the Cumbria Intitute of the Arts and graduated in 2006. At the same time as studying for her BA she also trained in Usui Reiki up to the level of Master Teacher.
She was born in the Drumchapel area of Glasgow, but moved to cumbria at the age of five. Jade attended St Benedict’s School in Whitehaven. After leaving school she studied for an Art Diploma at the old Park Lane College in Workington. However, like many artists she found academic study of the subject off-putting and didn’t draw or paint for six years after that.
Jade played guitar and drums in various bands – channelling her creativity into music rather than art for years– and worked for an entertainments magazine before returning to education, to study media and communications at the University of Cumbria.
Her interest in spiritual matters had been growing since the age of 18, when she began reading and studying the Tarot.
Jade has carried out extensive investigations and research into hauntings, UFO sightings and unnatural phenomena over the last ten years. As well as working as an artist, Jade is a Web & Graphic Designer, Tarot Consultant, Reiki Master and editor of The Enlightening Times Magazine. She also teaches the Usui method of Reiki Healing and instructs others how to cleanse negative energies, or disturbances, in their homes.
Jade is currently designing a new set of Soulscapes Tarot Cards and writing her second novel "The Initiate".

Through her work Jade assits others to bring the benefits of Spirituality and Enlightenment into their lives through promotion of introspection, meditation and psycho-spiritual development. She paints commissions of Spirit Guide portraits and SoulScapes to help others to connect with their inner world, and enable them to progress with their own Spiritual Development.
“When I first got interested in spirituality people thought I was losing the plot, but for each person to be a whole person they need to make a spiritual connection. People need something to believe in, so why not let it be in themselves? There are so many people that I meet who are unhappy with their lives and want to change it but they lack courage simply because they have been indoctrinated against originality and individual expression. Creation is vital to the wellbeing of the individual and to the evolution of the soul.
Because people use their minds so much it is almost as if their hearts are stifled and unable to express emotion freely. The emphasis on work to the detriment of sanity in our society is sad, being unhappy and working for minimum wage is promoted as being more important than expression and free will” Jade Ashcroft 2009.
